We recently moved and had no trouble re-installing the unit. We purchased this weather station over 3 years ago and it's still going strong. I love all the features particularly the inside and outside humidity as some units don't include. We've used it in several different locations trying to decide the most convenient and it has transmitted effectively in all locations. Highly recommend.
I've owned this for about 20 months now and just yesterday had to replace the AA batteries for the very first time. I find the outside off (a little high) by a few degrees but this is probably due to the location of the outdoor sensor. It's the only clock in my house that has accurate time due to the atomic clock updating every day between midnight and 6 AM. Pretty much right on target for the indoor temperature and humidity. I had to mount it way up in a corner by my front door in order to keep it from getting rained on. I don't have much use for the alarm feature with the snooze, I really don't even see the point in having the alarm feature - after all I won't be using this for my bedroom alarm clock.
I was very impressed with the size of the screen on this unit. Also, if you lose your manual it's really difficult to find one online. It worked great for me all winter long displaying very accurate temperatures even when it was way below zero. Unfortunately the outdoor sensor quit working after only a few months of service. After much digging I finally found the manual here: http://www.lacrossetechnology.com/fx5000/manual.pdfOverall I liked the unit when it worked. Wish it would have lasted longer.
After our original weather station was dropped and broke, it was reassuring to get this new version that is smaller and displays more information in an easier to read format.
I have no complaints about this unit. I find it accurate and easy to read. I'm considering purchasing another one as a gift.
